Humanity in Focus — Beyond the Algorithm
What does it mean to stay human?
In a time driven by optimization, AI and constant comparison, this event explores what remains uniquely human — and why it matters more than ever.
- Reflection over reaction
- Courage over conformity
Not to resist technology — but to better understand how to lead, communicate and make decisions beyond what can be measured.

Ideas worth spreading — live in Malmö
Meet the speakers
Tareq Taylor is one of Sweden’s most recognized chefs, restaurateurs and cookbook authors. With sixteen cookbooks and a career spanning restaurants, entrepreneurship and some of Sweden’s most-watched television programs, he has spent decades exploring how food shapes culture, identity and human connection.
Based in Malmö, Taylor runs the restaurant Kockeriet and has received several major Swedish distinctions, including two Kristallen television awards. His work has also taken him beyond the kitchen, exploring family heritage, migration and the stories carried through food. At TEDxMalmö, he brings this experience into a wider conversation about what happens when food becomes more than something we eat — and instead becomes a way of understanding one another.
Filip Dikmen is a Swedish actor, comedian and media personality known for blending humor with sharp observations on identity, culture and society. He first gained national recognition through his comedy characters on social media, later winning Instagrammer of the Year at Sweden’s Guldtuben Awards.
His work has since expanded across television, acting and live entertainment, including his own SVT series Suleyman söker svar, Flykten till Östermalm, Let’s Dance and Big Brother. Alongside his career in entertainment, Filip studied law at the University of Gothenburg, giving him an unusual perspective at the intersection of media, society and human behaviour.
Nicolas Lunabba is a Swedish author and social entrepreneur whose work explores belonging, inequality and what happens when young people are pushed to the margins of society.
For more than a decade, he has worked closely with young people in Malmö through Helamalmö, an organisation dedicated to creating opportunities, community and safer environments for children and young adults. He is the author of the acclaimed book Blir du ledsen om jag dör?, a deeply personal story rooted in his experiences working with young people in Malmö, which has also been adapted for film. Through both his writing and his work on the ground, Nicolas brings a perspective shaped not only by observing social challenges, but by building relationships with the people living them.
Anne-Louise Thon-Jensen is a Danish impact investor, entrepreneur and sustainability leader working at the intersection of capital, business and global challenges. She is General Partner at VÅR Ventures, investing in sustainable solutions within energy, education and the global food system, and co-founder of SDG Invest, an investment fund focused on sustainable global equities.
Her career spans more than two decades across sustainable finance, entrepreneurship and international development. She previously served as Director and Head of Sustainability and International Development at PwC Denmark and founded and sold her own fair-trade company. Today, she also serves on the board of Minc in Malmö, connecting her work to the Öresund entrepreneurial ecosystem. Across her career, Anne-Louise has explored a fundamental question: how can we put capital to work not only for financial returns, but for the world we want to create?
Radika Entezar is an author and political scientist whose work brings attention to the realities and consequences of honour-based oppression. Drawing from her own experiences, she has recently published a book sharing her personal story and exploring what it means to reclaim the freedom to shape your own life.
With a bachelor's degree in political science, Radika today works within the Swedish public sector. Through her writing and storytelling, she brings a deeply personal perspective to broader questions of freedom, belonging and the right to choose your own path.
Emil Wasteson Wallén is an impact strategist exploring how we can use our careers, resources and choices to create greater positive impact in the world. Today, he is Director of Programs at High Impact Professionals, supporting experienced professionals in transitioning into careers where their skills can make a meaningful difference.
Previously, he served as Executive Director of Effective Altruism Sweden, advising individuals and organizations on philanthropic giving and positive impact. Emil also co-founded Hooked Foods, a plant-based seafood company created to contribute to healthier marine ecosystems. Across entrepreneurship, philanthropy and his own life, Emil has returned to a deceptively simple question: what if contributing more to others could also help us live richer, more meaningful lives?
Sonja Aits is an AI research leader, TechBio founder, advisor and educator who develops AI systems for life science and healthcare
Aslan Mirkalami is an entrepreneur and author with more than 17 years of experience building businesses. His experiences with success, setbacks and family life have shaped his curiosity about how the environments we create influence wellbeing, behaviour and the next generation.
Beyond the talks
Meet the artists
At TEDxMalmö, ideas are not only spoken. They are also felt, heard and created together.
DRUMBEAT · RICO PERSSON
How does humanity sound like?
At TEDxMalmö, music won’t only be something you listen to — it becomes something we create together.
Musician and facilitator Rico Persson, founder of DRUMBEAT, has spent more than 20 years exploring a simple idea: rhythm can turn a group of individuals into a community.
No musical experience required — just hundreds of humans, one room and a chance to find a beat together.
RASMUS & VIGGO
Some conversations begin with music.
Before the first TEDxMalmö talk begins, Rasmus & Viggo welcome guests with live jazz during the pre-event buffet.
One brings a musical legacy. The other balances the precision of engineering with the freedom of improvisation.
Together, they remind us that meaningful conversations often begin with listening.
The TEDxMalmö experience
